Spring Break

We just finished up our Spring Break. We didn't go anywhere special because David worked. He even had to work on his normal day off because a dentist in Pueblo died, and he went to cover for the patients. Meanwhile the kids and I saw "Horton Hears a Who" which has a great dental scene. Loved it. We also went miniature golfing for Jamison's 10 th birthday and skiing both weekends. I actually tried snowboarding which was extremely humbling. I thought I might be able to get a feel for the sport, since I can ski well enough. I couldn't even stay standing with one foot on and one foot off and I could barely make it down the bunny hill bent in half, with my hands dragging the ground for balance and going backwards. Spencer caught on pretty well by himself and Jamison gave up even sooner than I did. We all switched to skis for the last part of the day - it's a lot more fun when you can actually get on the lift. David and I have been listening to some parenting CD's as well, "Let's Fix the Kids". The kids listen to them as well, so when we try to enforce some "natural consequences" they know whats up. For Hannah, she was complaining that she had to get new shoes, they were getting holes in the bottom and the rain would soak her toes etc. etc. So I told her that she could apply the money she would've gotten miniature golfing towards her new shoes $6.00, and she could pay the rest. She went shopping while the boys golfed and came back with her new shoes, size 10 flip flops for how much? $6 of course. I hope those flip flops keep her size 7 feet nice and dry in the rain for a real long time! Jamison got to the point where he asked if we'd please quite listening to those darn cd's. They must be helping some!

Tonight's Menu - Cow Tongue

It wouldn't be a trip from Grandma and Grandpa if we didn't eat fine delicatessens like cow tongues! Only Jamison and Grandpa had refined enough tastes to appreciate it.

RSV

Poor little Cedric got sick with RSV and had to get on the oxygen tank. He was pretty miserable for a while, but is luckily doing better now. Thank goodness for brothers and sister to entertain and give extra loves. While he was so sad and crying it was nice to have grandma here to help out.

Chinese Warrior Dance

My mom is the church's Activities Chairman. For a church activity she planned an Asian Dinner. For dinner we had (of coarse) Asian/Chinese food. For the entertainment, the youth did a "warrior dance" with dragons and so forth. After we performed, we went out to the hall ways and into a classroom, really tired, and the audience asked for an encore! It was a lot of fun! I tried to get a video, but the down load was to long for me to wait!

Kyle Break Dancing

We went to the Duck Park to go feed the ducks. I guess there are some REALLY big geese and they like to be fed a lot of food! They are about as tall as Kyle and he freaked out when one got to close. Shanna (our friend) had a camera ready and caught Kyle climbing and it looked like he was break dancing!
